If you live in a known hurricane area and you have not already; you need to stock up on emergency storm supplies. It might also be wise to buy a portable generator and some type of gasoline storage container. Remember after hurricanes usually the power is off for three to five weeks and you will need to generator for electricity and you will need fuel to run the generator.

It might be wise to get a list of all the emergency storm supplies you'll need to protect yourself and your family in the event of a major category or Catastrophic Hurricane. You will of course need lots of water and there are some really good Internet web sites, which have lists of things that you may need. It is important to buy a portable generator before the announcement of a hurricane, which has formed.

Once the hurricanes form generally most retail stores completely sell out of generators due to the fact that the mass media blasts it all over everyone's television sets. It should be remembered that Noah built the arc before the storm remember? You can buy a generator with 1000 W for as little as $200 and the prices go up from there. Some folks by backup generators for their home, which are hardwired and a start at about $3500 and go all the way up to $30,000. Please consider all this in 2006.
