Learn How to Win at Poker With Solid Play and Strategies

Author: John Finney

To have a better chance of winning the entire pot when playing holdem poker online you must sometimes lower your honesty and do some things that can confuse other players. Keep in mind that all the experienced players do these things because they have already polished their game and came up with a unique and unreadable style. So you should also try to come up with a different games style that is not predictable in any way and that will not clearly tell what you are holding.

Sometimes, you can try to semi-bluff whenever you feel the need for it, just so you can get more hands out there. You are semi-bluffing when you have a good hand but it is very possible that you dont have the best hand in the game at that moment, and still you are betting or raising. Although it is not likely for your hand to win, when you confide in it as if it was the best and you stick to it but betting and raising, your hand can even get you the whole pot right at that instant if you have sufficient outs to outdraw the other players.

Lets just say you are the last player to act and you are holding a 10 and a Q of hearts. You can see the flop and it has three cards as it follows: K of spade, 7 and 2 of hearts. So, you have four hearts and you can hope for that flush draw. The other players all checked your bet and this show that they dont have good hands, maybe they have a pair of 2s or 7s. You made a bet without anything to rely on and you got called but not raised. So you can stand a chance to win the game if you raise again or just get through with it because by looking at your hand it is clear that you can get a flush or even a pair of Qs or 10s, are the odds are in your favor here. If they dont all fold and some call even after re-rasing when you are on the turn and you realize your hand did not improve at all you have the option to take the free card and raise your odds.

There is another strategy in poker you might like to get acknowledged to, because it is useful and it can help your game. When you are holding a winning hand, to let the game go on because you know you can win, you can use the slowplay. This means you are not going to bet on the first betting round, you will just call or check on it. The purpose is to bet and raise on the upcoming betting rounds and have as many players in them as possible. It is very practical when you on the flop because there is no need to make players fold here when you can drag them along to the turn and river where they will bet double and make the pot get bigger. This should be used with care and not very often. If you let other players take free cards then they can get a chance to beat you hand and you will lose the money you couldve one if only you bet in the first place. Slowplay is never to be considered in any of the situations below:

- Analyze the table and determine if a free card can get someone a winning hand. If it can then dont slowplay.

- When the pot is very large already

- When you are playing against a lot of players
