Author: Jakob Culver

Acne is a serious problem that plagues many teens and adults. Most get lucky and once the acne is over they have nothing to remember it by except a few bad school photos, but there are some that are left with scars.

Acne scars occurs when there is damage to the connective tissue that the body needs to repair your skin. When there are wounds, there are bound to be scars sometimes.

Scars can develop while acne is present, and the only way to prevent the scars at this point is to attempt to prevent acne. There are many ways to go about preventing acne, and you may have to make many attempts until you find what works for you.

There are several acne medications out there. If you are finding that over the counter acne medicine is not doing the trick then you should look into seeing a dermatologist. Your dermatologist can suggest different medication that will probably suit your needs better.

Of course medicine is not always the answer. Stress and the way you eat can affect your skin negatively as well.

When all you are left with is acne scars and you feel that there is nothing you can do about them, you would be wrong. There are acne scar medications available.

Dermal Fillers Collagen is injected into the scars to raise them a bit. This treatment is not permanent so it would have to be done every few months.

Laser Resurfacing is a popular method and it works quickly. Basically its like a chemical peel using lasers. It slightly burns the top layer of skin and when it heals the skin looks new and fresh.
