Many people want to stop all wars. I do not doubt it would be smart for an evolved species at our level to stop the wars against our own. But it also seems to be part of us and in the debate for human war; I do recommend the book; "War-A Sense that Give Us Purpose." I see you are calling war a problem, yet we must realize that we would not be here today if we did not have war in the past. Some say that we should not listen to a military mind about the pros of war and in doing so they make this a very profound statement of the highest morality. Okay, so don't listen to them, listen to me instead. I am not of a military mind by any means, yet understand where this impulse comes from and we should not deny it is part of us; both in nurture and nature and that goes for every civilization in the present period. Many people will say that "Technology is Bad" yet technology is neither good or bad. But it can do good or bad things depending on who or what is controlling it. Recently a Think Tanker emailed me this statement; "Technology, technology, technology, war has given us so much technology that we have to come up with new technology to deal with the waste created by technology." Yes and in doing so we now have nuclear power making and thus it will enable us to use nuclear power instead of some of the fossil fuels which we worry about on warm days with little wind as the concentrated pollution is not good for our bio-systems. We also have microwave ovens and jet aircraft flight too. So are all the anti-war people willing to give up those things today? And more importantly are you willing to give up future things for mankind and your children, by stopping all wars now? And if you do not have a war and someone else does onto you, will your children's children ever exist in the first place and if so what would their life be under such a regime, which caused the war for control over you and your family in this present period? Think on this in 2006. |
